Fire engineering
Working with architects, PFI consortia and other building design professionals to provide alternative approaches to fire safety design. We use fire engineering to achieve fire safety designs for buildings (especially large complex ones), or for specific aspects of building design.We often utilise powerful fire and evacuation modelling software, which allows us to develop fire scenarios, and show the likely effects of a fire according to the design and materials used in a building and the number of people it contains.
Design checking and validation
Working with building approvals bodies and PFI consortia to validate design proposals.The process identifies deviations from codes, checks assumptions and assesses the design against fire safety objectives.
