Rolton Fire Appointed to Complete Fire Engineering Study for Storage and Distribution Facility
Following completion of a favourable fire engineering feasibility study, Rolton Fire has been appointed to conduct detailed means of escape analysis within a proposed storage and distribution facility.
The facility will be located in Northamptonshire and will comprise offices, welfare facilities and a warehouse with internal floor area exceeding 40,000 m2 (nearly 440,000 sq ft). A warehouse of such dimensions presents challenges to building designers when considering the means of escape in terms of travel distance, but by analysing the fire load, potential fire growth and smoke production in detail, we hope to be able to demonstrate that safe conditions can be maintained in order to facilitate an evacuation of the building.
